Contact a local 4-H Club Leader to see if there is room in an existing club near you. The 4-H program coordinator in the county you’ve selected will follow up with you about next steps in the youth enrollment process. Your local 4-H program coordinator will assist you in identifying opportunities and/or a 4-H club in your community that meets your interest areas and availability. If a club or project area you are interested in is not offered in your county, contact your county educator about opportunities and procedure for starting a new club. If you are unable to enroll online, contact your county 4-H educator for assistance. Wisconsin 4-H Members in 5K – 2nd grade participate in the Cloverbud project which is designed to meet the developmental needs of this age group. This does not include pre-kindergarten or four-year-old kindergarten youth.

In fact, each year thousands of young people, ages 5-19, explore what interests and excites them as they grow with Michigan 4-H. 4-H members join local clubs where they complete projects in particular areas of interest.

Leadership is one of the most important skills used throughout life. 4-H has taught me to be a leader and shaped me into the person I am today. The 4-H motto is “Making the Best Better,” and as I look back on previous 4-H project records, I see how 4-H has continually made me a better person. When I first started in 4-H, I was excited at the idea of making new friends, but I was also more introverted around new groups and somewhat intimidated by the thought of meeting new people.

Adults and youth will need to enroll on 4HOnline and be active to be considered an official member of Texas 4-H. An active enrollment is required in order to register and participate in all 4-H meetings, activities and events. Each year on August 15th all membership in Texas 4-H goes to inactive and all youth and adult volunteers must re-enroll. As a best practice, attendance should be taken at all 4-H Club and Group meetings, committee meetings, project meetings, community service activities and recreational events. It is also best practice to forward attendance lists, along with meeting minutes, to the county 4-H Program Educator.
